DATA DELETION INSTRUCTIONS

At Lokaal India, we respect your right to control your personal data. This page details the step-by-step procedure for requesting account deletion and data erasure across our platforms.

1. Simple Data Deletion Process

Whether you created your account using Google Sign-In or email registration, you can request account erasure through the following straightforward workflow:

STEP 1: Submit Your Request

Send an email to our data privacy team at hello@lokaalindia.in with the subject line "Data Deletion Request - [Your Registered Email/Name]".

STEP 2: Identity Verification

To protect your account against unauthorized deletion attempts, our privacy team may verify your identity by sending a confirmation link to your registered email address or Google Account email.

STEP 3: Review & Processing (Within 7 Days)

Our technical team reviews your account status, active campaigns, and deliverables, completing data anonymization and account erasure within 7 business days.

STEP 4: Confirmation Notice

Once data erasure is completed, you will receive a final confirmation email, and your portal login credentials will be deactivated.

2. What Data Is Deleted

Upon approval of your deletion request, Lokaal India permanently removes or anonymizes:

  • Your primary profile registration records (name, email address, phone number).
  • Your Google OAuth authentication tokens and avatar image links.
  • Your creator profile media kit details, social handles, and portfolio links from public discovery.
  • Saved website preferences and browser notification subscriptions.

3. Legal & Commercial Retention Exceptions

Account deletion DOES NOT automatically cancel pre-existing commercial obligations, confirmed active campaigns, pending invoices, open disputes, or statutory accounting records.

In accordance with applicable Indian laws and platform terms, Lokaal India may retain minimal necessary records for:

  • Tax & Accounting Records: Completed transaction invoices, GST billing records, and payout receipts retained for statutory tax audit periods.
  • Active Campaign Obligations: If you are a creator with an active, unfulfilled campaign brief or a brand with open project deliverables, deletion will be finalized upon campaign completion.
  • Legal & Security Audits: Records required to prevent platform fraud, handle legal claims, or comply with valid law enforcement requests.
